like those wild weeds
we are persistent beings
such inevitable outgrowth
from this veil of sophistication
trampled or crushed or be uprooted
we get up and grow
we arise with time, over time
so elegantly rooted
our seeds of resolve in the womb of earth
through the skin we warriors emerge
impenetrable armor of experience strapped
honey laced swords shine
carving into the flesh of those who demur
a sculptured heart resides
beside the one they lived with so far
we beat in rhythm, but have no life to pump
a garland of beauty beautified with frivolous touch
making our space as they melt
we declare a war of love
with passion, with obsession
to strive and live on our terms
a heart to beat so for us, if not theirs
yes, we love

Such an elegant and beautiful poem, Shefali. These battles of love are fought in armies of two. Lucky are those who find such companions on the fields of life. There is a tenderness in your words that offers comfort as you wield your honey laced pen to pierce the heart. And such a stunning photograph to go with. Simply divine, love ❤ ❤ ❤

Such a beautiful comment from a passionate reader and an elegant poet herself … ❤ ❤ ❤
From the times we used to hear this cliché of love is a war and to this time when we get the answers for how and why, we realize how many battles we already lost , yet we continue to struggle for a win to acknowledge this living an achievement ….
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience of this late night poem…I am grateful… ❤

You’re welcome. It’s unfortunate that we must complicate love, often having to endure many losses before we get it right. You are sweet to call my words elegant. Thank you 🙂 ❤ ❤ ❤

Lathered with woody puissance, you have captured the resilience of the “weeds” most perfectly.
I was captivated reading lines such as “the seeds of resolve in the womb of the earth”.
You are the wildflower at the river edge; your poetry the evening sun’s reflections, dazzling my view ….

I always had this passion for writing, but have not written more than half a dozen poems before I started this blog…… What you see here on my blog is not my experience with writing but my passion for it..
Thank you Sherin.. ❤
